Emails were exchanged, enthusiasm abounded, dates were set and changed, and in the end, we landed on a spectacular morning to set out on a ride of discovery.

The sky is almost always mesmerizing, never static.
We flew into Afghan territory at dawn, witnessing a spectacular sunrise over the barren, convoluted terrain. At 8 am we were over Kabul.
